Brady O’Callahan, I’m glad you did this, because I have never heard of Auto-Tune the news and it blew my mind.

bradyocallahan:

I’m pretty sure I’m a little late on the bandwagon here, but this is incredible.  Hell, I was going to forego putting this up here, because I’m sure people have seen it.  However, this has been stuck in my head for about a week.

WHEN AN ANGRY GORILLA CRIES, WHO’S GONNA BE THERE TO DRY HIS EYES?!?!?

One of my favorite tracks from last year gets the full team treatment.  Peep it.

Nyle: “Let The Beat Build”

Worth your three minutes for the arrangement alone.

I go to college with Nyle. It’s so weird to see this blowing up.

Is there some kind of misogyny required from people who work with Leslie Mann? In “Knocked Up” there was this ridiculous run of scenes about how she’s so old and depressed about it and can’t get into clubs anymore. The run was wrapped up with a rant by some club doorman about how old and ugly she was. Stupid. Any female worth her salt would have cleanly ripped that guy a new asshole including questions about “what he was doing with his life.” It goes without saying that she’s NOT “old and ugly”.
Then today, I saw a promo for “17 Again” where Zac Efron and Thomas Lennon (actors in the film) are discussing the Leslie Mann and how after the “husband character” reverts to 17 years old (Efron), there’s a “Cougar Aspect” (oy). They then begin commenting about how (smirk, smirk) “Grapes just get better as they age.” (referenced her breasts)”Oh, I guess that’s supposed to be WINE”, completing the insult.
What The Fuck? Are you guys retarded? In the real sense? And Leslie Mann, can you please begin to counter this with the appropriate cleverness and outrage? It’s embarrassing.

In Knocked Up though the guy isn’t commenting on her being old and ugly. He’s commenting on how vapid and dumb the club scene is. He says you’re too old “for this club” not “for the earth.” He never calls her ugly. He says she’s “old” (again for the club not the earth). Then he goes onto say she is attractive. And he specifically is attracted to her. The whole point, at least the one I took out of it, was that she realized she is still sexy and that one can’t put their self-esteem in the hands of bouncers or other vapid parts of society. That said I could totally be wrong…

Also you will not get a defense for 17 again out of me…

Twofer Thursday: Silly Celebrities of the Day

Billy Bob Thornton is especially messed-up during an interview with CBC Radio One’s Jian Ghomeshi. Get ready to feel the squirm.

[via.]

BritBrit offers the crowd at last night’s Vancouver show some sound advice concerning the fun-D-mentals: Drunk driving, drugs, and dicks.

[via.]

BillyBob’s band-mates look traumatized from the get-go, BEFORE BillyBob even starts his Joaquin-like state.

What he did was rude, but not Joaquin-like. He felt (and I tend to agree) that the interviewer made it sound like music was a side-project. A hobby. Which is patronizing for Billy Bob and dismissive of his band mates (because they’re only here because he’s a famous actor). So Billy Bob answered his questions by talking about hobbies. Douchey? Sure. But a Joaquin-esque disconnect from reality?
